The 11th South Asian games Opening Ceremony

The 11th South Asian Games got underway with a dazzling opening ceremony at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday with thousand of athletes and performers taking part in the three-and-a-half hour programme. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the 12-day regional sports extravaganza open. Bangladesh had hosted the event in 1985 and 1993.

The Sri Lanka Science and Engineering Fair (SLSEF) 2009 took place on the 19th of February 2010 at the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) auditorium. The event showcased the country’s most innovative science and research talent and also served as a platform for the selection of the local finalist who would travel to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) which will be held in San Jose, California in USA in May 2010.

Apple to sue HTC for Nexus One

Steve Job'sApple is to sue mobile phone manufacturer HTC in a suit that claims the Taiwanese company has infringed 20 of the iPhone-maker’s patents.

HTC, which makes a range of handsets including Google’s flagship Nexus One, has declined to comment on the action until it has investigated the details of the filing.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive, issued a statement saying “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We've decided to do something about it.”

Akon, born Aliaune Thiam on October 14, 1981, is a Senegalese-American hip hop and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. Akon rose to fame in 2004 following the release of his single “Locked Up” from his debut album Trouble.
