The grand event in the Sri Lankan construction industry “The ARCHITECT 2010 Exhibition” will be held at the BMICH from the 17th to the 21st of February.The exhibition organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) is been held for the 28th consecutive year. The Annual Sessions of SLIA comprises several key components – the Inauguration, the National Conference, the Member’s Work and Trade exhibition, the Annual General Meeting as well as the Fellowship Night
The organizers said that the exhibition will be open to public from the 18th onwards. The exhibition will encompass 350 stalls and 210 companies which are linked to the construction sector in various ways.“The ARCHITECT 2010” will be unique since in 2010, the exhibition will focus on the integration of the Members’ Work Exhibition with the Trade Exhibition. This will be the main feature, where the Architects works will take centre stage with promotion of the best innovations of building products and services exhibited around it.
The inauguration is held today (17th) at Water's Edge. The National conference is held on February 18th and 19th at the Cinnamon Grand. The event will be graced by eminent figures of the global architectural fraternity such as the President of International Union of Architects - Archt. Louis Cox from Australia, President of CAA – Archt. Gorden Holden from New Zealand, President Elect CAA - Archt. Mubassar Husseine from Bangladesh. Also, Archt. Gorden Chong from USA, Archt. Kenneth Yang from Malaysiaas well as the Immediate Past President of the Union of International Architects (UIA) - Archt. Gei Tan Sue from Mauritius will grace the event as key note speakers.
